DESCRIPTION

This tasty yet simple holiday casserole is ready in just 40 minutes – quick and easy for a Thanksgiving dinner full of flavor!

DIRECTIONS
  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour to create a roux, cooking for about 1 minute until smooth. Gradually add the milk while whisking to avoid lumps, continuing to cook until the sauce thickens. Stir in the Reese Caramelized Onions and salt, mixing well. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. Blanch the Green Beans: Bring a pot of water to a boil, then add the halved green beans. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until just tender, then drain.

  3. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the blanched green beans, halved Reese Water Chestnuts, and caramelized onion cream sauce. Stir well to coat evenly, then transfer the mixture to a baking dish.

  4. Add Almond Topping: Flatten the top of the casserole, then sprinkle with sliced almonds.

  5. Bake: Bake uncovered at 375°F for 30-35 minutes, or until the almonds are lightly toasted and the casserole is bubbling.
