Reese Chili


INGREDIENTS
  • 1 packet Reese Minnesota Wild rice 
  • 3/4 cup Reese Hearts of palm, diced 
  • 1 jar Reese Caramelized onions 
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil 
  • 1 lb ground beef 
  • 1 cup green bell pepper, chopped 
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp smoked paprika 
  • 1 tsp cummin 
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder 
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar (optional) 
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce 
  • 1 14.5 oz can fire roasted tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz can corn kernels 
  • 1 15.5 oz can kidney beans 
  • 4 cups water or broth
Garnish- 
  • Shredded cheese
  • Corn chips
  • Green onion

DESCRIPTION
Nothing says cozy comfort like a big bowl of hearty homemade chili! This recipe is loaded with ground beef, fire-roasted tomatoes, beans, corn, green bell pepper, and a smoky, savory blend of spices like cumin, chili powder, and smoked paprika.

DIRECTIONS
  1. In a large skillet, sauté the bell peppers in the olive oil and lightly toast the spices 
  2. Next add the ground beef and cook until lightly browned.
  3. Next add the tomato sauce, fire, roasted tomatoes, sweetcorn, kidney beans and stir to combine * if using, you can add brown sugar at this point
  4. Then add the Reese Minnesota wild rice, caramelized, caramelized onions, and diced hearts of palm, followed by the water or broth and mix to combine.
  5. Cover the chili and lower the heat so it’s at a simmer. Cook for 40 to 50 minutes, stirring occasionally. or until the rice is tender.
  6. Spoon your chili into a serving bowl. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and top with corn chips and sliced green onion.
  7. Enjoy.
