DESCRIPTION
These Horseradish Smash Burgers deliver everything you want in a classic diner-style burger, ultra-crispy beef patties with deep caramelized crust, gooey melted cheese, fresh toppings, and a creamy tangy burger sauce. The bold flavor of Reese Prepared Horseradish adds a subtle kick to the sauce, while Reese Caramelized Onions & Peppers bring rich savory depth to every bite. Stacked on a buttery toasted bun, this burger is packed with flavor.

DIRECTIONS
  1. Prep the Toppings & Bun:
Mix all burger sauce ingredients in a small bowl until smooth and fully combined. Set aside.
Prepare all toppings so they are ready for assembly: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and Reese Caramelized Onions & Peppers.
Butter the buns and toast them on a grill until golden brown. Keep warm.
  2. Preheat the Grill for Smash Cooking:
Preheat a flat-top grill or cast-iron griddle placed over a gas grill to high heat. Allow it to heat for at least 5-10 minutes until extremely hot.
  3. Season the beef:
Season the beef portions generously with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper before shaping or smashing. Keep loosely formed into balls.
  4. Smash and Cook the Patties:
Place 2-ounce beef balls onto the hot grill surface.
Immediately smash each ball firmly using a stiff metal spatula until very thin and wide, slightly larger than the bun.
Cook until a deep brown crust forms and the edges are crisp, about 45-60 seconds.
  5. Flip, Cheese, and Stack:
Flip each patty. Immediately place cheese on one patty and stack a second patty directly on top to create a double smash burger. Remove from the grill.
  6. Assemble the Burger.

Notes:

  • These burgers cook extremely quickly; work in batches and focus on one burger at a time for best results.
  • If preparing multiple burgers, keep finished ones warm under a loose foil tent while assembling the rest.
  • A very hot cooking surface is essential for achieving the signature smash burger crust.
