These creamy scalloped oysters make the perfect entertaining dish! Whether it’s Thanksgiving, or a fancy dinner party, this dish is sure to please.
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a well-buttered casserole dish, combine crackers, breadcrumbs, and melted butter. Thinly spread mixture in the bottom of casserole dish. Set aside remaining crumbs.
3. Add in oysters until casserole is halfway full. Set aside remaining oysters.
4. In a small bowl, mix together cream, nutmeg, celery salt, and salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle half of the cream mixture over the oysters in casserole dish. Set aside remaining cream mixture.
5. To create the next layer, pour in remaining oysters, ¾ of the crumbs and cover with leftover cream mixture. Garnish with the remaining ¼ of crumbs.
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
7. Serve hot.
